Reid Alan Ching
Reid Alan Ching serves as Vice President for Advancement at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), where he leads philanthropic development and strategic engagement efforts that support the university’s mission of excellence in research and education.
Reid brings two decades of experience in advancement and major and principal gift fundraising, having held senior roles at global institutions including Stanford Medicine, the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, and Imperial College London. His career also includes positions at Columbia Business School, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, New York University, Aiglon College, and Zurich International School. Over the course of his career, Reid has worked across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Gulf region, bringing a global perspective to building philanthropic partnerships and high-impact collaborations.
Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Reid earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a graduate degree from Syracuse University. His international experience and strong commitment to mission-driven work help him foster meaningful connections with individuals and organizations in support of scientific and educational advancement.
